Hey there, Microsoft 365 pros!
Jonas here from EasyEntra.
Q3 has been another busy quarter. We’ve added more automation around OneDrive and PIM, expanded reporting, and made EasyEntra available in two more languages.
Next up, we’re taking automated onboarding a step further – so new users don’t just get created and configured, but also get access to the shared mailboxes they need from day one. And we’re tackling some of those frustrating mailbox regional settings too. More on what’s coming in the roadmap below.
Here’s what’s new, what’s coming next, and a few practical guides from the EasyEntra team.
WHAT’S IN THIS UPDATE
✓ Released in Q3: OneDrive ZIP Export, PIM Groups, new reports & more
✓ MFA reporting: Find users on SMS and voice before Microsoft retires them
✓ Localization: EasyEntra now available in German, French and Spanish
✓ Coming soon: Shared mailbox access during onboarding, regional settings
✓ Tips & tricks: Connect Your HR System to EasyEntra Onboarding
NEW THIS QUARTER
Features Released
✓ OneDrive ZIP Export + PowerShell Cmdlet
Need a local copy of a user’s OneDrive?
You can now export OneDrive contents directly to a ZIP file from EasyEntra – on demand, whenever you need it.
Prefer to automate it? OneDrive ZIP Export is also available through EasyEntraPS module, making it easy to integrate OneDrive exports into your own PowerShell scripts and workflows.
✓ PIM Role Elevation – Including Roles Assigned Through Groups
But there’s a catch.
There are two ways to configure PIM with groups in Microsoft Entra, and they aren’t the same.
You can keep administrators as permanent members of a role-assignable group and make the Microsoft Entra role eligible – or make the group membership eligible while the group permanently holds the role.
Both provide just-in-time access, but they behave very differently. The first approach provides faster role activation for services such as Exchange Online and OneDrive and is the model we recommend.
If you’re using PIM with groups today, it’s worth checking how yours is configured.
✓ New Reports: Mailbox Size & MFA Authentication Methods
We’ve expanded EasyEntra reporting with two new reports designed to answer questions administrators regularly need answered.
Mailbox Size Reporting
Get a clear overview of mailbox usage across your organization. Quickly identify large mailboxes and users approaching their limits before they become support tickets.
MFA Authentication Methods Reporting
This one is particularly relevant right now.
Microsoft is moving Entra ID toward phishing-resistant authentication. From September 1, 2026, users who currently rely on SMS or voice authentication will increasingly be prompted to adopt passkeys as their default authentication method. Microsoft-provided SMS and voice delivery is scheduled for retirement on February 1, 2027.
Before you can migrate users, you need to know who will be affected.
EasyEntra’s MFA report gives you visibility into the authentication methods registered by your users, making it much easier to identify accounts still relying on SMS or voice and start moving them toward stronger methods such as passkeys, Microsoft Authenticator, Windows Hello for Business, or FIDO2 security keys.
✓ Bonjour! ¡Hola! EasyEntra Now Speaks French & Spanish
EasyEntra is becoming a little more international.
In addition to English and German, the EasyEntra interface is now available in French and Spanish, making it easier for administrators and IT teams to use EasyEntra in their preferred language.
ON THE ROADMAP
What’s Coming Next
We’re continuing to move more of the everyday Microsoft 365 admin experience into one place. Here’s some of what we’re working on next:
Shared Mailbox Access – Built Into Onboarding
New employees rarely need access to just their own mailbox.
We’re extending Virtual User Templates so you can automatically give new users access to the shared mailboxes they need as part of the onboarding process.
Think sales@, support@, accounting@ – access can be defined in the template and applied when the user is created, instead of becoming another post-onboarding task for IT. One more thing you can set once – and stop doing manually.
Free PIM PowerShell Cmdlet
A free PowerShell cmdlet for activating and deactivating PIM roles, making it possible to integrate PIM elevation into scripts, tools and administrative workflows.
Mailbox Regional Settings
Manage mailbox language, time zone and other regional settings directly from EasyEntra. Particularly useful for shared and room mailboxes, where incorrect or inconsistent time zone settings can be surprisingly difficult to troubleshoot.

⭐ Connect Your HR System to EasyEntra
This one is worth highlighting.
We’ve published a practical guide showing how EasyEntraPS and a PowerShell HTTPS listener can connect an external system – such as your HR platform – directly to EasyEntra onboarding.
The workflow can be as simple as:
HR System → HTTPS Request → PowerShell Listener → EasyEntraPS → Hybrid User Created
Your HR system supplies the employee information and specifies which EasyEntra Virtual User Template to use. EasyEntra then handles the standardized hybrid user creation.
It’s a lightweight way to turn an HR event into automated Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 onboarding without building an entire identity management platform.
Still Wrestling with Multiple Admin Consoles?
Stop switching between portals and PowerShell. See how EasyEntra brings everything together in one familiar interface – built for the way IT pros actually work.
The best EasyEntra ideas often start with someone asking, “Why can’t I just do this from here?“
So keep the ideas coming. If there’s a Microsoft 365 admin task that’s taking too many clicks, too much PowerShell, or too much time, hit reply and tell me about it. It might just end up in the next quarterly update.
