Use case: Use this procedure to view, copy, or expire a Windows LAPS password for a computer account. Managing LAPS passwords through EasyEntra helps ensure secure local administrator credential rotation directly within Active Directory.
To configure LAPS, follow these steps:
- Open AD Computer properties and select the LAPS tab.
- To copy the password, click on the Copy button (or click the password text box to view and copy the password).
- To expire the password immediately, click the Expire button.
- To modify the future expiry time, configure the Next LAPS Expiration date and time.
Please note that you need to use pass-through AD authentication in EasyEntra to decrypt an encrypted LAPS password.
(You can still expire the LAPS password if you use explicit AD authentication in EasyEntra.)
