Use case: Use a mail-enabled security group when a team needs both access control and secure communication. The group provides a single, centrally managed way to control access to various resources and distribute emails to all group members.
To create an Entra ID mail-enabled security group, follow these steps:
- Select Entra ID and expand your tenant.
- Right-click the Groups container and select New > Group.
- From the Group type options, select MailEnabledSecurity.
- Enter the Display name. An email address is suggested automatically, but you can edit it if necessary. Select Next.
- Adjust the group settings as needed by using the tabs on the left-hand side. For example, you can add members or configure group ownership.
- Select Create to finish creating the Entre ID mail-enabled security group.
