Use case: Use a security group to manage access permissions for shared resources – such as applications, file shares, or devices – in Entra ID. Security groups simplify administration by allowing you to assign permissions to the group instead of to individual users.
To create an Entra ID security group, do the following:
- Select Entra ID and expand your tenant.
- Right-click the Groups container and select New > Group.
- From the Group type options, select Security.
- Enter the Display name.
- Adjust the group settings as needed by using the tabs on the left-hand side. For example, you can add members to the group.
- Select Create to finish creating the Entra ID security group.
