Use case: Use this procedure to view or directly assign Microsoft 365 licenses for a user. Adjusting license assignments controls which Microsoft 365 services — such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams — are available to the user, either by assigning or removing complete license plans or individual service components.
To view and assign Office 365 licenses, do the following:
- Open User properties and select the Licenses tab.
- Locate the Licensing Plan you want to configure.
- Select or deselect the entire plan (e.g., Microsoft 365 E5), or expand it to select or deselect individual service plans (e.g., Exchange Online Plan 2).
- Click OK to apply the settings.
